Art Class Today @ 10am!
This Sunday’s project is a fun one and perfect for all levels of development. To watch the children brainstorm what they want to make and then execute it, you would be surprised at the brilliant masterpieces that are created.
The children will be given cotton balls, pretzels, q tips, dried pasta, mondo llama confetti, mini marshmallows, toothpicks, air dry clay, and a bowl.
(Need not to worry as these projects are supervised)
First we will talk about all the different ideas the children have of what they could create with these materials. Ms. Helen will provide suggestions but ultimately allow the children to lead in their creative thoughts; She will encourage them to manipulate the materials to use them in different ways.
We will have a project @ 10-10:30 (with a 15 min. play break) and then again the same project @ 10:45-11:15. Owner Kim will have the extra materials if there are families that can’t make the project times but would like to do it at another time, same day.
~
Can’t wait to see you there! & remember* THERE IS NO WRONG WAY TO CREATE :)

Early exposure to art enrichment has been tested and proven to promote brain activity, aid children in comprehending other academic subjects, and most importantly – to encourage young minds to be creative, engage in originality and inventiveness in thinking, and strengthen communication of ideas among peers.
The Harvard School of Education determined that “Students who study the arts seriously are taught to see better, to envision, to persist, to be playful and learn from mistakes, to make critical judgments and justify such judgments.” *
.
Even though preschool level art enrichment classes would not necessarily be “studying art seriously,” the goal for offering open-ended art studio sessions with various media is to accentuate the process of creation, versus the “goal” of a finished product.
By doing this, children learn to fully understand the idea behind creation, how certain mediums behave, how one concept or idea can be used for all sorts of things, and what tools are essentially needed to make what you want to create. The idea behind this: There is no right or wrong way to create.
I bring all these things and more through my program, Art Enrichment with Ms. Helen.
