Family Room Chicago is for All Families & Aligns with City Leaders to Uphold Civil Rights
In light of recent reports from sources like the Associated Press and the Chicago Sun-Times, as well as statements from local business organizations and unions, Family Room Chicago wants to be clear about our shared commitment to community safety and dignity for all residents. We stand with a growing number of Chicago businesses and leaders who have outlined a unified approach to safety in our city.
Like Chicago Public Schools, we maintain strict policies regarding federal immigration enforcement.
Please be assured that:
We DO NOT ask our customers for their immigration status.
We WILL NOT coordinate with federal representatives, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
We DO NOT share customer records with ICE or any other federal representatives.
We WILL NOT allow ICE agents or any other federal representatives access unless they produce a criminal judicial warrant signed by a federal judge.
Access to our space is only granted to members and paying customers. Our staff has been instructed not to open the door for any federal agent or law enforcement without a proper warrant. Any individual with a valid warrant must slide it under the door for management inspection before any further action is taken.
Family Room Chicago reserves the right to refuse service to anyone at the discretion of its staff.
For any questions or concerns regarding this new policy, please contact CEO Kimberly Brown at management@familyroomchicago.com.
